After discussing my work with Mairi Lafferty I have been running some experiments to determine how important the mechanisation of the tickling feathers might be.

If the sensation of the feather making contact with the rock is the crux of the work then are the mechanical elements of the work necessary? Does mechanisation become an accessory?

Thanks to everyone who came to my studio to help me resolve this question.
